Day Two in the Big Sydney Opera House!!
Well!!!! It seems that I was the only one who thought Darrens problems yesterday were part of the show!! (His professionalism obviously tricked me!!!). Hehe tonights show was AMAZING! I know I keep using the word amazing but thats how I feel so deal with it :P Soundcheck was fab! Calvin was there doing his dueting thing with Darren (bless!!) he danced away the whole time throughout chained to you and then a little bit of to the moon and back, and then a little check of the vocoder for IKILY (which was working at this point!!!!!!!!). Darren sounded great though did stop mid song 'excuse me I'm going to burp' and burped down the mic! Which Rob seemed to find hilarious! Not much else happened there I could go on and how he sounded fantastic but really theres never any doubt on how fantastic he's going to sound!!! OH I forgot, Darren went to his knees which Calvin then copied (hehe mini Darren in the making), and then Darren sat on the floor, which Calvin also copied! I tried to get some pics, not sure if they turn out, when my battery is charged and I can sort my pics I'll let you know ;) But he is VERY cute!!
VIP reception was very cool again, though all I did was stand on the balcony watching the sydney harbour bridge (which sounds weird typing it cos it wasnt like it was moving! :P) but was very relaxing, and really cool watching the sunset and all! Beautiful beautiful place!! OH and I didn't mention yesterday, but much higher class food at the opera house! Samosas and spring rolls! Lol. AND champagne with strawberries in!! Not that I had the benefit of anything, feeling too sick with excitement to have anything more than a sip of water. But my Mum assures me it was great!
AML was fantabulous AGAIN. Her classic pop song duet with her brother is just so good, I hope that becomes available at some point!!! I tried to remember the songs she sang today I think (!) Dear Letter, I'm in love with love, More, Don't say you love me when I know you don't, the duet which I can't remember what its called (ahhh!) and I think one other (Edit - Misunderstood!!!)! Hehe she rememebred to introduce herself today too which she didn't yesterday bless!! She looked stunning - again! Totally brilliant!
Darren - well. You know what I'm going to say! :P but I'll say it anyway He was AMAZING!!!!! Lol, show ran a lot smoother today and the only blip (besides that bloody vocoder not working!!!) was when he slipped on his balloons on the way on stage to sing popular! Aww! At the end he asked Justin if he thought anyone had noticed lol. BTW the strip behind the screen is back!!!! It was yesterday too, but I just forgot to tell you :P This time Troi helps him ;) Only with his shoes!!!! Oh and his belt lol! The popular intro bit seems to have changed, slightly different beat to it and the video has changed too, few extra bits (nothing dramatic just more wally, and a few different poses) and the beat, well I can't really describe it it was just different!). He sang the full Insatiable today! And the full SR too! So obviously the problems really did disrupt him yesterday (but I still think he handled it well!) The new song is still in! For the Kareoke challenge,. he started with I miss you, and then after a few lines stopped and said he didn't want to sing that and put Hold Me on instead! Lol. That girl was very sweet today, she seemed very excited and was very careful with the video camera, she had a panic when she thought shed turned it off, and wouldnt move a muscle whilst holding it despite Darren beckoning her! Bless! Everytime he got near her she kinda had an excited jig too lol. Bless :D The date thing was still on, and the girl chose the bloke (but I think only because Darren told her too! - he goes no pressure kisses her on the cheek and whispered for her to take the bloke - well he couldn't have her ruining the DVD could he! lol).
YES the vocoder broke again! Such a shame!!! He tried three times, before going 'f** it' and then singing it acapello. (My Mums convinced it was specially for her, and if she tells me one more time it's better than the vocoder version she might not be returning to england with me). I will admit it he sang it beautifully. Before singing it he promised something special and quickly added that he wasnt stripping! (Damn!)
So Beautiful seemed extra special tonight! Sounded gorgeous!
OH YEAH my Mum just reminded me! (We're so sad we're just sat in our room going what else what else). Lol. Today the date winner girl got a HUGE teddy bear which Richard carried on, a HUGE bouquet of flowers and a bottle of champagne, yesterday I think she only got the bear - but omg! At the dress rehearsal I got a plastic plate ;) And have to say the date fgirl today, was really cool, when the balloons fell her face totally lighted up - despite seeming uneager to take the bloke! lol though i'm not sure she realised what he was on about, she seemed confused by the totally paid by you bit!
Sorry I missed out so much stuff out yesterday but I was very excited, I was in a bit of a daze and a bit overcome with it all I was a bit hyper and as you might be able to tell when I am I just babble a bit :P
So I think thats it for now! (though I may be back later to add more!). He sounded brilliant, the opera house is fantastic (oh and he said yesterday how he used to go and look at the outside with his Grandad and always think he liked to go, and had never even seen a show inside the thing, bless, today he said how it was a dream come true for all of them to perform there (which they all nodded along too). Its really nice hes got to play at the place of his dreams - just a shame that the audience seem as excited as they could have.
BTW I'm sorry its taken me so long to type this, but I'm trying not to forget things in my excitement - and we did get interupted by a rather gorgeous room service bloke bringing us some wedges :P
I really wish all of you could have been here.
