A Big Night In
Having been a fan Of darren's since day 1 in savage garden, i was stoked to finally see him perform solo.
I had purchased tickets to his TCFC tour back in 01/02 when he cancelled due to illness. Unfortunately i couldn't make the sydney dates :(
Then years went by tours were peformed in the UK but nothing here in OZ, finally i heard about the ABNI tour in the UK, it opened to awsome reviews and i hoped i'd get the chance to see it and i finally did, and it was amazing.
The opening of I like your old stuff better than your new stuff was great then launching straight into savage garden tunes.
There was not one moment of disappointment in the tour. Although i didn't enjoy the I knew i loved you synthesised vocals but it was still pretty funky to listen to even though i'd prefer him to use his own amazing vocals.
I'm struggling to pick the highlights of the show because the whole thing was amazing, i loved break me shake me and the design around the set of that song with the videos of darren on the plasmas, i loved the audience interaction he had, the jokes the down to earthness of his performance. I wouldn't hesitate to go watch again and again and again - if only i lived in the UK where his tours seem so much more common.
Here are some images; I know they're not the best, but i had to put up with my sisters camera which isn't as good as mine, so some may be a little pixelated, these are some of the better shots....wish i had my camera :( But still i don't care that much still a fantastic night.
